Therapy is tailored to meet the specific needs of individual clients. Whether you are struggling with knowledge of a Medical Diagnosis, Anger, Depression, Loss or Grief, Relationship Issues, Work Issues, Empty Nest, Negative Habits, Self Esteem, Loneliness, Depression or Anxiety, I will try to help with your search to explore underlying concerns, fully realize your strengths and adjust certain behaviors and thoughts to view things in a different and healthier perspective.
Below are a variety of ways therapy can help through using different approaches to meet your needs.
Psychotherapy – talking about problems rather using medicine, but can be used collaboratively with RX.
Solution Focused – a goal-directed collaborative approach to change through responses to a series of constructed questions.
Brief Therapy – focuses on resolving a specific problem within a minimal amount of time
Cognitive Behavioral – its goal is to change patterns of thinking or behavior
Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) – is a therapy designed to help people change patterns of behavior that are not helpful
EMDR Therapy – an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma
Supportive Therapy – treatment designed to improve, reinforce, or sustain a patient’s physiological well-being or psychological self-esteem and self-reliance
Mindfulness Therapy – involves acceptance, meaning that we pay attention to our thoughts and feelings without judging them
Transactional Analysis – analyzes personal relationships and interactions in terms of conflicting or complementary ego states that correspond to the roles of parent, child, and adult.
Mediation Services – is a form of alternative dispute resolution (ADR), a way of resolving disputes between two or more parties. I am a certified mediator in the Commonwealth of VA. The Fees for a mediator is economically based and provides a binding legal court document after it has been signed by the judge. Decisions through mediation are made by the disputants through compromise with the help of the mediator and in the best interests of the parties involved. With mediation services, you make the compromise and you hold the final decision, not the mediator or an attorney. Final mediation documents are legally binding after signed by a judge.
Mediators with J&DR certification are qualified to mediate cases arising in the Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court, such as custody, visitation or support matters.
Supervision Services – providing supervision hours toward licensure of graduate level social workers.
